AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- The Starbucks plant is on schedule and slated to open early next year in Augusta.
Company Spokesman Zack Hutson says the plant will be 180,000 square feet and will employ over 140 people.
The company is already hiring for the positions, which include maintenance mechanics, automation specialists and operations. Click here to apply for the jobs.
Hutson says packaging operations will begin at the plant in October 2013, and the plant will become fully operational by early 2014.
He says Augusta was chosen based on "workforce availability, access to transportation, logistics and technology, quality of life, and strong support from local and state leaders."
The plant will be the first company-owned manufacturing facility in the world to produce soluble products, according to Hutson.
