AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Deputies say a man accused of stabbing his wife during a fight on Thursday night has been booked into jail.
Hassan Coles, 34, was released from the hospital and booked into the Richmond County Jail on Friday.
Coles had been in the hospital after being hit in the face with a bread truck mirror in Aiken County.
Deputies say Coles and his wife were arguing when he allegedly stabbed her in the upper shoulder. It happened just after 11 p.m. on the 400 block of Warren Road on Thursday.
She was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Deputies also say several children, ranging in ages 12 and younger, were inside the home at the time. Coles is being charged with three counts of cruelty to children because the alleged incident happened in front of them.
Neighbors say Coles took off from the scene once he heard ambulance sirens.
Coles is also being charged with aggravated assault and a weapons charge. He has no bond.
