UPDATE: 5 sent to hospital after accident on Peach Orchard Road

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- A three-car accident on Peach Orchard Road sent five people to the hospital on Tuesday morning.

It happened around 7:10 a.m. at the intersection with Boykin Road.

The accident left all four lanes of Peach Orchard Road blocked for over an hour.

A driver traveling north near the intersection allegedly lost control and swerved into the southbound lanes, hitting two cars.

None of the injuries sustained in the accident are said to be life threatening.
