Car versus motorcycle crash on Huber Clay Road
Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013
AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. (WRDW) -- SouthStar EMS is offering to take the widow from the Sept. 12 motorcycle accident to her husband's funeral for free.
A costly medical transportation for Kathy Favors was in the way of her attending Daniel Favors' funeral.
The funeral is on Friday, and the family says anyone is invited. The family is hoping bikers will show up to escort the procession from Platt's Funeral Home in Downtown Augusta to Bellevue Cemetery. The family says bikers can arrive at Platt's around noon.
The family wants bikers to wear helmets, even if the law for a particular state says it’s optional. Troopers say the Favors were not wearing helmets at the time of the accident.
The family is also hoping to schedule another charity ride, and wearing helmets will be the chief message.
Here's the statement from SouthStar EMS:
