LINCOLN COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW) -- The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners agreed to lease several campgrounds set to close around the lake.

The Army Corp of Engineers announced they'd be making cuts and closing some of them last month.

The county decided earlier this week to take over nine properties that would have been shut down. Now official approval is the final step.

Here's a list of the campgrounds Lincoln County agreed to take over:

  • Amity Rec. Area
  • Broad River Campground
  • Chamberlain Ferry Ramp
  • Clay Hill Campground
  • Double Branches Ramp
  • Gill Point Ramp (Lincoln, Ga.)
  • Hesters Ferry Campground
  • Leathersville Ramp (Lincoln, Ga.)
  • Murray Creek Ramp(Lincoln, Ga.)

Lincoln County Commission Chairman Wade Johnson said the approval would mean a financial boost for the county.
