Overnight shooting in Augusta marks 13th in recent weeks

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- The Richmond County Sheriff's Office has confirmed one man was shot in the hand on Memory Drive off of Gordon Highway.

He is being treated for his injury at Georgia Regents Medical Center, according to the news release.

Deputies responded to the scene at 1:46 a.m. and are now searching for four men in connection to the shooting.

This shooting is the 13th in the last few weeks and the second one this week.

Investigators tell News 12 that the victim was shot outside of his home and that the shots came from several houses down the street.
