Teenager shot during argument in Hephizibah

HEPHIZIBAH, Ga. (WRDW) -- Richmond County Sheriff's office investigators are looking into a shooting that took place on Patiller Road off of Storey Mill Road in Hephzibah. Deputies say it happened around one o'clock Tuesday Morning.

According to a Sheriff's office release, investigators learned that Courtney Rhodes came to Patiller Road Tuesday morning to exchange vehicles with her ex-husband, Willie Rhodes.

When Rhodes arrived--there was a verbal altercation between Courtney Rhodes and Willie Rhodes' girlfriend, Gina George. It was at this point that George brandished a handgun and began firing shots at Courtney Rhodes' car.

Inside the vehicle was Rhodes' 17-year old daughter; she was hit in the left arm and grazed in her stomach by bullets. She was transported to GRU and her injuries are said to be non-life threatening.

Gina George was taken into custody and charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
