AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- Lisa Solesbee says she feels like a weight has been lifted off her shoulders now that the second suspect in her daughter's beating is in jail.

"I don't think I can describe how relived we are that he turned himself in," Solsebee said.

Kevin Richardson is now behind bars in an Indiana jail and Solesbee says she had just one thought when she first heard the news.

"Disbelief -- I couldn't believe that they actually got him, especially in Indiana of all places. That's a long way away," Solsebee said.

Richardson and the second suspect, Robey Moses, were found in different states. Both were miles away from the where the attack took place.

Richmond County deputies say the quick arrests are possible thanks to modern policing techniques.

"Once we have warrants on somebody and warrants that you would extradited on, you'll basically put into the computer system and that generates throughout the whole nation," said Lt. Calvin Chew.

If a suspect is stopped or found anywhere in the nation, the original agency is notified -- but that wasn't the only thing that helped.

"Kudos go out to our investigative division. They did a great job. Of course, with the assistance of the media and the public in getting information out there," Chew said.

News 12 viewers were the first to learn about Wednesday night's arrest, and the Solesbee family found out just as quickly.

"News 12 called me and wanted to know if I was watching the news," Solesbee said.

Wesley Spires, the other victim, had his third surgery today. It went well, but he's got a long way to go. He'll be sedated and on a ventilator Thursday night.
