Sheriff's Office looking into third homicide of 2014

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- The Richmond County Sheriff's Office is investigating its third homicide of the year.

A deputy found a 2011 White Chvey Silverado which appeared to be disabled at 5:40 this morning on Bobby Jones Expressway, the Sheriff's office confirms. The deputy found the driver of the truck with a gunshot wound.

The deputy coroner said Gerald Clifford, 28, was shot once and his autopsy is scheduled for today in Atlanta.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, the Sheriff's office said.
