AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW) -- The man who allegedly hid in the ceiling at the Aiken County Magistrate Court courthouse is suspected of breaking into a 76-year-old man's home early Wednesday morning, the Aiken County Sheriff's Office confirmed.

An Aiken man said he pulled out a gun and tried to shoot someone who had broken his front door window and was trying to get in, the report said. After firing, the man ran off and apparently hid in the ceiling of a courthouse in Aiken, the Sheriff's office said.

Charles Joseph Blair IV, 21, got into the building by breaking a window, officers said. Investigators said they had to help Blair get down from his hiding spot.

Blair was apparently not hit by the man's bullet because he did not show any gunshot wounds, the Sheriff's office said.

Blair has been charged with burglary, attempted robbery, and breaking and entering of a vehicle.
