BURKE COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW) -- A man has been arrested on a cruelty to children in the first degree charge in Burke County, the Sheriff's Office said.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation partnered with the Burke County Sheriff's Office in an investigation into an incident where a 1-month-old child was admitted to GRU with a skull fracture, the Sheriff's Office said.

Mark Anthony Winter is accused of hitting the child in the head during a physical confrontation with the child’s mother at a home in Burke County.

Details about the child's condition were not released.
