UPDATE | Four suspects plead guilty in deadly shooting in Waynesboro

WAYNESBORO, Ga. (WRDW) -- Four people admit to playing a role in a deadly shooting in Waynesboro.

According to the Clerk of Courts Office, Joseph Bennett and Keleon Burdette entered a guilty plea to charges of involuntary manslaughter and possession of a firearm. As part of their plea deal, both men will spend 15 years behind bars.

Bennett and Burdette were two of ten people arrested by Waynesboro police in Mandrekgus Delvin Bonner's death.

Levonta Cooper and Shaquille Freeman also entered guilty pleas to charges including: hindering apprehension of a fugitive and giving false statements in a government matter. Cooper and Freemen will spend ten years in prison.

Waynesboro police officers found Bonner's body in a driveway on 11th Street in April 2014.

According to the Clerk's Office, Terrance Brown, Quame Collins, Ricky Hughes, and Travis Walker are still waiting trial in the deadly shooting.

WAYNESBORO, Ga. (WRDW) -- The Waynesboro Police Department says there is just one more suspect on the loose, wanted in connection with the murder of Mandrekgus Delvin bonner from back in April.

Police picked up 25-year-old Ricky Hughes this morning in the Magnolia Acres neighborhood. Officers are charging him with murder and aggravated assault.

They're still looking for Terrance Brown, known as "Big T."

Waynesboro PD says they put nine people in jail already.

They're looking at charges ranging from felony murder and aggravated assault to making a false statement.

WAYNESBORO, Ga. (WRDW) -- Police arrested seven suspects connected to the murder of Mandrekgus Delvin Bonner.

This morning at 6:45, the Waynesboro Police Department assisted by Burke County Sheriff Office, Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, Georgia Bureau of Investigations, and FBI Safe Streets Task Force served arrest warrants for 11 suspects.

They are all wanted in connection to the shooting death of Bonner on April 14 in the driveway of a home on 11th St. in Waynesboro.

Currently, 9 suspects have been arrested in the case.

These are those suspects and their charges:

  • Clifford Freeman (aka Duce)
    Poss. of Firearm by convicted Felon
  • Travis Antonio Walker
    Felony Murder; Aggravated Assault
