AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Emanuel County Sheriff J. Tyson Stephens has confirmed the two remaining escaped inmates have been taken back into custody after escaping Nov. 10.
Matthew Findley and Jeffery Webb were found in Iowa on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
They will have an extradition hearing in Iowa and will then be
returned to the Emanuel County Jail.
The other four inmates were found within 24 hours of the escape.
The six inmates were able to escape after someone left a small maintenance door open at the jail.
As of Tuesday, the following inmates are back in custody:
- Eric Lashawn Barney, 32
- Matthew Shepherd Findley, 24
- Dante Jamial Latimore, 27
- Cecil Dewitt Nelson, 33
- John Stephen Powell, 27
- Jeffery Rashawn Webb, 26
The Emanuel County Sheriff's Office, the U.S. Marshal's Southeastern Regional Fugitive Task Force and law enforcement in Iowa assisted in the arrests.
