AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Conditions at a Richmond County elementary school are safe, according to documents released from the school system on Friday.
Questions about Terrace Manor Elementary School's safety were thrust into the spotlight after former principal Hartley Gibbons had an outburst at a Richmond County Board of Education meeting on Tuesday. He claims there is mold and asbestos inside the school and that the school wasn't getting any help.
Gibbons was escorted out of the meeting. He was also taken out of the school on Wednesday. Gibbons announced his retirement Thursday afternoon in a meeting with school staff members.
