Salvation Army getting ready for the summer heat

AUGUSTA, GA (WRDW)- The Salvation Army is partnering with Wal-Mart to collect supplies for this summer in the "Cans, Fans and Bottled Water" drive.

The organization is accepting donations on canned goods, electric fans and bottled water today and tomorrow from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Wal-Mart on Wrightsboro Road.

The first five people to donate a fan on both days, will receive a free one-day pass to the Kroc Center.

The items will be distributed to people and families in need in the Augusta area this summer.

The "Cans, Fans and Bottled Water" drive will continue through mid-June at different Wal-Mart locations throughout the CSRA.

You can also make donations on the following days and locations:

  • 1) May 16 & 17: 3338 Wrightsboro Road, Augusta, GA
  • 2) May 22 & 23: 1201 Knox Ave, North Augusta, SC
  • 3) June 13 & 14: 260 Bobby Jones Expy. Augusta, GA

Donations are also accepted at any Salvation Army Location, including the Kroc Center, Center of Hope, First Stop Center, and Family Stores.
