AIKEN , S.C. -- The Aiken County chapter of the American Red Cross now has a new vehicle to help with disaster relief, thanks to Savannah River Nuclear Solutions.
SRNS donated $25,000 to buy the car for the local chapter, which will help volunteers respond to emergencies and disasters in Aiken, Allendale, Bamberg, Barnwell and Edgefield counties.
"SRNS’ sponsorship of this new vehicle provides our staff with the ability to safely send volunteers to disaster clients at a moment’s notice,” said Lindsay Findley, executive director of the chapter, in a news release.
