AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW) -- An Aiken man has been charged with threatening a public official.
Agents from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division say 23-year-old Willie Maurice Franklin threatened an investigator on Monday.
According to the warrant, Franklin made "a verbal statement threatening the life and or well-being" of the investigator.
If convicted of the misdemeanor, he faces up to five years in prison and/or a $5,000 fine.
Franklin was arrested on Monday in connection to the recent burglaries in downtown Aiken. He was charged with trespassing after notice, criminal conspiracy and accessory after the fact.
