AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Richmond County deputies have arrested two men in connection to a robbery turned car chase.
It all started around 2 a.m. Thursday, when Columbia County deputies put out an alert on a person who stole a car and wallet.
Richmond County deputies later spotted the car on Gordon Highway, which they say was being driven by 31-year-old Charles Lamar Burnett, and chased him.
Burnett allegedly hit a mailbox at the Barton Village Community Center on Rome Way.
He was taken to the Richmond County Jail and is being held without bond. Burnett is facing traffic charges as well as armed robbery, theft, burglary and a weapons charge.
Travis Whigham, 32, was taken to the Columbia County Detention Center and is being held without bond. He is charged with armed robbery, burglary and theft.
