AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- Ashley Solesbee still finds a reason to smile, despite all the pain she's experienced lately.

"I'm doing a lot better. I still get tried very easy and very quickly, but I'm able to go out and about," she said.

You can barely see the bruises around her face -- bruises she got after being attacked and robbed at Augusta's Riverwalk earlier this month.

One of the men accused in the attack has already been arrested and is facing aggravated assault and robbery charges.

Some say the charges are too soft, but Solesbee says she is satisfied.

"All I can say is that I'm pleased with the sheriff right now, I can't say anything further, but I'm very happy with the way he's treating me," she said.

Solesbee says she knows emotions are high but wants people to know that prayer is all she needs -- and not just for her, but for the suspects, too.

"The public needs to continue to pray for them. They need prayers.
And of course, continue to pray for Wesley," she said. "I haven't seen him yet, but I miss him so much."

The sister of the second victim, Wesley Spires, says he is still in the hospital and is in critical condition.

Wesley's sister told News 12 he has already had two surgeries and a third one is planned in the near future. She says he is also battling pneumonia.

She says he's taking baby steps toward recovery. He is still heavily sedated and hasn't woken up since he was put in the medically-induced coma. Therefore, he has not been able to talk.
