RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW) -- Firefighters extinguished a house fire on Tubman Home Road that injured one person.

They were called to the scene just after 3:30 a.m.

There were five people in the home at the time, crews said. One person was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.

They're still investigating the cause of the flames, but say a candle may have set a sofa on fire. The home did not have power at the time, officials said.

The home is a total loss, crews said.
