AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- Twenty four cars were broken into over the weekend in Richmond County, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office said.

Most of these vehicles were left in neighborhoods on the street or within shopping centers unlocked with valuable items in plain sight, they said. Ten vehicles in the Meadowbrook area and 14 in the Manchester area off of Windsor Spring Road were broken into this weekend.

The Sheriff’s Office asks the community to remember to lock their car and take valuable items out of the vehicle. If you have any information on the break-ins, let the Sheriff's Office know.
