AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- A teacher wanted on child cruelty charges has turned herself in.
Francine Wynn, a former kindergarten teacher at Copeland Elementary, is accused of placing a student in a closet as punishment for misbehaving.
Superintendent Dr. Frank Roberson says she was given the option to resign as a teacher, which she did, and was transferred to the Transportation Department. Roberson says she will finish out this school year in transportation and will retire at the end of this school year.
The school district worked with the Sheriff's Office to investigate the allegations.
