AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- Masters patrons are disappointed about the rain washing out the practice round on Monday. Things were normal when the gates opened but that quickly changed.

More rain along with the threat of severe weather forced everyone back to the parking lots with Monday's practice round cancelled.

They come to Augusta from all over the world.

"We are from Vancouver, Oakfield, Calgary, Edmonton, and Toronto," said Patron Ned Saunders.

"We are from Manchester England which gets a lot of rain.We don't have this much I'm afraid," said Patron Brian Lane.

Brian Lane and his brother Stanley came from England. They didn't make it inside, but they'll be in town until Thursday. Randy Kinsler flew in from Michigan just for today's practice round.

"They said it was beautiful and I was looking forward to seeing the flowers. I got to the gate. Did you see any flowers from the gate," said Patron Randy Kinsler.

Hundreds of others took shelter at businesses along Washington road in places like CVS, The Fresh Market and the restaurants.

"It's good for the economy and it's good for the city. They can visit some of the stores we have here and spend a little time before the course opens back up," said Sgt. Danny Whitehead.

This group of Canadians spent some time explaining Toronto Mayor Rob Ford. You know the one who made headlines with his bizarre behavior. They told us if they can wait all year for Masters Week one more day won't make a difference.

"It's worth the drive. This is a special place and an amazing tournament for people who have never seen it. It's quite an experience," said Patron Mathew Kane.
