ATLANTA (AP) -- Federal prosecutors say a former attorney has been sentenced for stealing more than $300,000 from his firm's clients.

Authorities said Thursday that 53-year-old Thomas W. Dickson, originally of Boulder, Colorado, has been sentenced to a year and one day of prison time and three years of supervised release.

He's also ordered to pay nearly $176,000 in restitution and serve 120 hours of community service.

Prosecutors say Dickson ordered his law firm's accounting department to fraudulently transfer more than $300,000 from the firm's trust account to an account that he and his wife controlled. Dickson was disbarred in March of 2013.
