NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WRDW) -- North Augusta City Council approved of hiring a company to build parking decks for Project Jackson.
They gave the green light to Structured Parking Solutions, LLC. Monday night.
Project Jackson is still facing some troubles. Steve Donohue sued the city of North Augusta in December because he says the city didn't use the public-private investment correctly. Donohue says the city fraudulently used the word "blight" to get money to fund the project.
The lawsuit could prevent the park from opening up by 2015.
Donohue is now facing a lawsuit himself from the North Augusta Riverfront company. The company accused Donohue of "intentionally and improperly" interfering with the sale of the 45-acres where Project Jackson would go.
Both lawsuits are still pending.
