AUGUSTA, GA (WRDW) - Private planes are coming in and out of Augusta Regional but parking has become an issue. The problem is the pilots that decided to stay are making it more difficult for those who are flying in with reservations.

Staff at Augusta Regional tell us they are working to make enough space for anyone who needs to land.

The patrons at the airport are leaving with fond memories of Augusta National and the city.

"I really enjoyed the last couple of days. We've seen superb golfing and fantastic hospitality. We really enjoyed it," said patron Mark Carney.

"The best part about Augusta National is everything. It's meticulously done and every detail is taking care of," said patron Howard Kies.

"This seems to be one of the busiest Masters that we had so far," said Augusta Regional Communications Manager Lauren Smith.

"We have had a few pilots that instead of dropping people off they decided to stay a little longer. It's taking up some of the available space," said Smith.

Airport officials say more than 100 planes are parked. They had to close Taxi-way Alpha yesterday because they ran out of room. Daniel-field airport and the airport in Aiken are also full.

"We are accommodating all of the pilots and planes coming in," said Smith.

Lauren Smith with Augusta Regional says they are allowing planes to come in and drop off passengers but for now those planes have to find somewhere else to park.
