Plant with 230 employees closing in Hampton County

HAMPTON, S.C. (WRDW) -- A plant in Hampton with 230 full and part-time workers are closing by the end of this year, Panolam President and CEO Al Kabus said.

Workers at Panolam will be given the opportunity to re-locate at openings at other facilities, Kabus said. Panolam has five distribution sites and six other manufacturing facilities nationwide.

South Carolina Works will help employees with workshops at the plant to help with resumes, develop job hunting skills like interviewing and filling out applications, the president said.
