UPDATE | Pedestrian hit & killed on Old Savannah Road identified

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- The Richmond County Coroner's Office is identifying the woman hit & killed on Old Savannah Rd.

Coroner Mark Bowen says 19-year-old Sujada Lazana Truitt, of Martinez, was walking down the center yellow line on the 2100 block of Old Savannah Road.

She was pronounced dead at the scene just after 5:00 a.m.

The coroner says she died from blunt force trauma, and no autopsy will be done.

We're told the driver that hit the woman is not being charged.

The Richmond County Sheriffs Office STAR team is investigating.
