AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. (WRDW) -- The Aiken County Coroner has released the name of the man killed after being hit by a train this morning.
Robert Norman Bisou, 32, of Warrenville was struck by a Norfolk Southern train that was traveling north at approximately 39 miles per hour at Walton Road and Carline Road around 4:19 a.m.
The coroner said the operator noticed someone sitting on the track approximately 30 yards before impact. The train was put into emergency however it was unable to stop and pedestrian did not move, the coroner said.
Officials said the train was transporting about 73 cars at the time of the incident.
Bisou died from multiple body trauma and is scheduled for autopsy on Friday.
Toxicology is pending. This is an ongoing investigation to determine manner of death.
