UPDATE: 12-year-old girl dies after being hit along Washington Road

EVANS, Ga. -- The 12-year-old struck by a car on Washington Road Friday afternoon has died.

Deputies say Makenna Erin Arildsen darted out into traffic near Fieldstone Way and was hit by a 54-year-old year old woman.

The 12-year-old girl was airlifted to the hospital after the accident where she later died.

No charges will be filed against the driver.
