Wednesday, August 21st

Augusta, GA- Peach Orchard has been reopened after this morning's busted water pipe.

This morning Georgia Power hit an 8 inch water main while setting a pole. Officials say the pipe doesn't appear to be split so are putting a cap on the leak which takes 30 minutes.

Just a few homes on Barbara street are without water now but they should have water again by 11:30am.

The north and south bound lanes of Peach Orchard at Barbara Road were closed this morning.

Richmond County Sheriff's Office says normal traffic flow should resume without any problems.

News 12 is monitoring the scene so stay with us for updates.
