Part of Mike Padgett Highway to close for road work

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- A portion State Route 56/Mike Padgett Highway will be closed at the rail crossing in McBean (mile marker 0.5) on Jan. 28 for scheduled crossing work, according to Georgia Department of Transportation.

The portion of the road will be closed from Jan. 28 at 8 a.m. until Jan. 29 at 5 p.m. weather permitting.

A detour sign will be in place using Hephzibah-McBean Road and State Route 121/US 25.
