Papa Joe's Banjo-B-Que announces this year's headlining bands

EVANS, GA (WRDW) -- The Avett Brothers and Old Crow Medicine Show will be headlining this year's Papa Joe's Banjo-B-Que.

The 5th annual Banjo-B-Que festival is scheduled for May 23rd and 24th at the Evans Towne Center Park.

In addition to The Avett Brothers and Old Crow Medicine Show, other acts include The Whiskey Gentry, Rosco Bandana, The Little Roy & Lizzy Show, and The Blue Dogs. This is just the first round of band announcements, more artist are expected to come.

Live music isn't the only fun festival goers can enjoy, the event will also feature a Kansas City Barbecue Society sanctioned cook off with the grand prize of $40,000.

Ticket prices for the event vary with a weekend pass starting at $60 while kids under 12 are free. Weekend passes go on sale Friday, February 21st, and local ticket outlets and VIP ticket options will be announced soon. Single day tickets will be available at the gate for $35 on Friday and $30 on Saturday.

All proceeds from the festival will benefit the Joseph R. Pond Memorial Foundation, which supports several charities in the CSRA.
