AUGUSTA, Ga. -- News 12 Sports has learned college football will return to the CSRA and Paine College will be the school fielding the team.
The official announcement comes Friday as the school has done an extensive feasibility study to see if it would be possible and they have approved the plan to move forward.
Nine months ago, new Athletic Director Tim Duncan told News 12 Sports the school was exploring the option and it would increase enrollment in the school. Duncan also said it would take a few years to get everything in place before they could play their first game.
Paine currently plays in the SIAC for other sports with 10 of the members offering football.
