COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. -- A mystery has been solved, and soon a ring and its owner will be reunited.

Back in July, workers at the Columbia County Little River Wastewater Treatment Plant found a 1976 Evans High School class ring.

Since then, the search has been on for the ring's owner. The only clue community members had to work with was the initials found on the inside of the ring: JLL.

Columbia County Emergency Management Director Pam Tucker spearheaded the search for the ring's owner. Tucker says the search went cold for about a month until a former neighbor of the ring's owner saw the story and tracked down Jeanette Louise Larsen.

Arrangements have been made to return the ring to Larsen, who now lives in Florida.

Tucker says nobody is sure how the ring ended up in the sewer.
