AUGUSTA, Ga. -- An Augusta club owner is facing five years behind bars less than a year after his business was the site of a fatal shooting.

Magic City owner Patrick Walton was sentenced to five years on a charge of making false statements to law enforcement.

Earlier this year, he received multiple citations from code enforcement for not having formal security and having too many people inside the business.

This all stems from a deadly shooting back in January when 16-year-old Kyle Royal was shot and killed outside of the club.
