LOUISVILLE, Ga. (WRDW) -- Investigators say one man is dead and another is injured after a shooting in Jefferson County Sunday morning.
According to officers, it happened just down the street from the Apollo Club on E 5th Street in Louisville, Ga., around 12:15 a.m.
Investigators say 23-year-old Kenneth Quarterman Jr. died at Georgia Regents Medical Center early Sunday morning after suffering from at least one gunshot wound to the head. Before taking him to the hospital, EMS found Quarterman on the sidewalk.
The other victim, 25-year-old Charles Lewis Brown III, was taken to Jefferson Hospital in Louisville by a family member. He has been released from the hospital after being treated for a gunshot wound to the head.
Investigators say Quarterman and Brown are related and were reportedly standing near each other at the time of the shooting.
An autopsy will be performed on Quarterman at the GBI Crime Lab in Augusta on Monday.
So far, no suspects have been identified, and no one is in custody.
This case is under investigation by the Louisville Police Department, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Jefferson County Coroner's Office.
