NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WRDW) -- Officers with North Augusta Public Safety say a man is in custody after leading them on a chase through parts of North Augusta overnight.

Jamain Wilson is being charged with failure to stop for blue lights and a stop sign, drug charges, driving with a suspended license and malicious injury to property.

The chase started sometime around 1 a.m. when a vehicle failed to stop for a traffic stop on Bradleyville Road.

Officers say that the chase led them down Atomic Road to Highway 1 then to Cherokee Drive.

According to officers, at some point the suspect threw what they believe are drugs out of the window of the car. It was at that point that officers say the suspect led them back toward Bradleyville Road.

The chase ended when the suspect crashed into the woods off of Bradley Drive.
