UPDATE: More than 100 marijuana plants found in Burke Co. shed

WAYNESBORO, Ga. (WRDW) -- "You can actually smell it. So it's very strong," said Sgt. Sean Cochran.

That smell was 155 marijuana plants -- a major bust in this remote part of Burke County.

"We have person in custody right now," Sgt. Cochran said.

The suspect is 32-year-old Robert Allen Tillman who lived at the home.

Investigators say he was growing the weed inside a shed out back that he had turned into a drug laboratory.

"It had a nice expensive air conditioning unit outside," Cochran said. "And a nice big padlock on the door."

Now he's facing felony charges, which could land him anywhere between five and 30 years in prison.

Deputies say a tip led them to the operation.

"Once you catch it being manufactured, you're actually beating them at their own game," Cochran said. "Because they don't have the chance to get it out to the street to make the money."

They say the lab was well equipped with six lamps, five power inverters and a bucket of chemicals.

"This is something that's taken a lot of time. Something he's spent a lot of his own money on apparently in an effort to make money," Cochran said.
