UPDATE: Man dies after hitting utility pole on Gordon Highway

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- The Richmond County Coroner's Office has identified the man who died in an early morning accident on Gordon Highway.
Deputy Coroner Kenneth Boose says 32-year-old Roderick Quimbly died from blunt force trauma at 4:15 a.m. Wednesday.
The crash happened just before 4 a.m. at the intersection of Deans Bridge Road and Gordon Highway.
Investigators say Quimbly was driving westbound on the 1600 block of Gordon Highway when he drove into the median, hitting a road sign and then a metal utility pole, causing the front end of the car to catch fire.
An autopsy will not be conducted.
