UPDATE: Man arrested in connection to drive-by shooting on Jonathan Circle

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW)- A man has been arrested in connection to a shooting on Jonathan Circle. Officials say Xavier Robinson was arrested in connection to the shooting earlier this month.

Robinson is being charged with 2 counts of possession of a firearm, aggravated assault, possession of marijuana and probation violation.

Officials were originally called to Jonathan Circle on July 5th where they found Nathan Simpson, 28, laying in a front yard with multiple gunshot wounds and bystanders administering first aid.

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW)- Richmond County Deputies are searching for a suspect they say shot a man and damaged property in an Augusta neighborhood.

According to reports, deputies were called to Jonathan Cir. at 2:00 a.m. When they arrived to the scene they found Nathan Simpson, 28, laying in a front yard with multiple gunshot wounds and bystanders administering first aid.

Simpson was taken to GRU. No word yet on the extent of his injuries.

Witnesses told deputies, multiple shots were fired from a black Ford Explorer, and the driver made a u-turn on Jonathan Cir., heading west on Apple Valley Drive.

A home and a car were also damaged in the shooting.
