AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- Richmond County deputies are investigating an overnight fatal shooting on 3rd Avenue.

Deputy Coroner Kenneth Boose says 31-year-old Charlie Davis was shot at least one time and was pronounced dead just before midnight.

Deputies say they were called to the 2100 block of 3rd Avenue for shots fired around 11 p.m.

They say they then received calls about a shooting victim on the 2100 block of 2nd Avenue, which is where they found Davis with a gunshot wound. Investigators say Davis was shot on 3rd Avenue and ran to 2nd Avenue.

Davis was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

They are still investigating and don't have a suspect description

Boose says an autopsy is scheduled in Atlanta on Wednesday.

This is Richmond County’s 13th homicide of 2013.
