STATESBORO, Ga. -- News 12 has just learned Dianna Wedincamp, the Ogeechee Riverkeeper, is leaving her position to pursue an environmental consulting business.
She says if anyone needs to contact the Ogeechee Riverkeeper about any pollution issues, they can contact Emily Markesteyn.
Here is her statement she sent to News 12:
"After 10 years of service at Ogeechee Riverkeeper as a board member, staff member and almost two years as the Ogeechee Riverkeeper, I am leaving to establish an environmental consulting business where I will continue my career as an advocate for the Georgia Rivers. I remain committed and ready to help citizens fight water and air pollution and that commitment includes supporting all of Georgia’s Riverkeepers. I will continue to work with organizations and citizens who are steadfast in protecting our natural resources and wildlife. I encourage all of you to support Emily and ORK as you have me during my tenure."
