UPDATE: Georgia Ave. back open after accident

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WRDW) -- Georgia Ave. is back open after an accident Monday morning shut it down.

North Augusta Public Safety are investigating a hit and run accident on Georgia Avenue.

Officers shut down Georgia Ave. between Martintown Rd. and Arlington Heights around 8 this morning because crews were cleaning up downed wires and vehicle parts across the road.

The road has since reopened.

Officers have taken a suspect into custody.

Public Safety says no one was injured.
