AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- News 12 first told you last week about the deplorable conditions inside Ervin Towers in Augusta. That is where some residents say they are coping with collapsed ceilings, mold and other issues.

HUD officials also promised last week that Jones would be out of her dilapidated apartment by Monday.

When News 12 arrived late Monday, Jones was in the same place.

"Waiting on the people to move me. That is all I can say. I am surprised. Just surprised about it because I thought everything was complete, but it's not," Jones said.

News 12 went looking for answers and found maintenance working on Jones' new apartment. An official told News 12 that Jones will be in her new apartment within hours and that they wanted to make sure that there were no issues with the unit before moving her.

News 12 also wanted to know about the building and whether the roof would be patched or replaced.

Officials say the roof will continue to be patched as needed for the next couple of weeks. However, by mid-August, they say the roof will be replaced at a cost of about $250,000.
