AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. -- News 12 On Your Side is learning more about a local contractor's past.
We first told you about Nasheed Talib last week. Lenora Howard paid Talib $12,000 for building a sunroom onto her home. The project is still unfinished nearly a year later.
News 12 learned Talib is not licensed to work as a contractor in South Carolina. He also has a history of trouble on the Georgia side. In 2011, he was cited for working without permits and no state license.
"I wish I knew this before," Howard said.
She also wishes she had known not have taken out a building permit in her own name. At the time she didn't realize by taking out the building permit that she was responsible for the work.
Howard has filed civil papers against Talib.
News 12 On Your Side offered Talib another chance to do an interview. Once again, he declined.
