GROVETOWN, Ga. (WRDW) -- A new traffic signal will be activated in flash mode on Friday, according to the Georgia DOT.

The new signal is located at the intersection Lewiston Road and William Few Parkway in Columbia County.

The light will become fully operational Dec. 18 at 10 a.m.

Motorists should use caution in the area.

This signal comes after years of preparation by the county. Columbia County will end up spending about $2 million to add lanes in both directions, install a traffic light at the William Few intersection and an acceleration lane to keep traffic moving.
