A new commanding general is headed to Fort Gordon as the latest general heads to his next assignment, Fort Gordon officials said.

FORT GORDON (WRDW) -- A new commanding general is coming to Fort Gordon as the latest general heads to his next assignment, Fort Gordon officials said.

Maj. Gen. Stephen G. Fogarty will become commanding general of Cyber Center of Excellence and Fort Gordon. Fogarty recently served as commanding general, U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command in Fort Belvoir, Virginia.

Soon-to-be former Fort Gordon commanding general Maj. Gen. Lawarren V. Patterson will become commanding general for operations/chief of staff and Installation Management Command at Joint Base San Antonio.
