New Augusta Entertainment Complex general manager named

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- Global Spectrum, operators of the James Brown Arena and the Bell Auditorium, named Chris Bird as general manager of the two venues.

Bird is a 10-year Global Spectrum employee, according to the release. Bird will be relocating to the Augusta area soon.

“We are confident that Chris’s experience and seasoned history with Global Spectrum will be the right fit for us here in Augusta,” said Cedric Johnson, Augusta-Richmond County Coliseum Authority Chairman in a release. “We have been quite impressed with Global Spectrum since day one and we are excited for the new possibilities with Chris.”

Bird is a graduate from the University of South Carolina. Augusta Entertainment Complex said Bird recently served as general manager of the Bicentennial Center in Salina, Kan.
