AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Plantation Blood is a popular haunted house attraction for many in Augusta, but neighbors say visitors get to go home; those who live there are already home.

"No one has the right to keep you up night after night after night," Pamela Williams said.

She says the noise is unbearable. Plantation Blood owners told News 12 last year people like her can buy over-the-counter sleep aids or earmuffs.

That didn't sit well with Williams last year, and she's worried she'll hear more of the same again this year.

"It's like a Six Flags," she said. "The fair doesn't even last a month."

"[There's] 10 acres of woods between my house and this road," said James Mashburn. "The noise was so loud at my house I could not sleep at night."

That means it's worse for Williams, and she worries there's more.

"He's trying to get it rezoned into a general business because he was using the front part of it for parking. I've now been told once they get it rezoned, they can stay open year round," she said.

No one from Plantation Blood would interview with News 12.

The planning commission told News 12 rezoning could give the house the right to open year round, although they have not heard any plans of that being the case.

A look at Plantation Blood's website shows they don't have any shows scheduled past November.

The rezoning meeting is scheduled for 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, at the municipal building.
